Amanda Melvina was born in 1836 in Arkansas.  Amanda Melvina's father was Marshall Crawford and her mother was Rebecca Sinclair.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Sinclair and Mary A Havens. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Thomas Benton, Charles Sinclair, Mary A, Louisa, Harriett, Elizabeth Caroline, Martha J and Martha J.  She was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 76 on December 15th, 1912 in Erath, TX.
