    4. Will dated 16 July and proved 31 October 1718 (Annapolis, Liber 14, folio 669); Chew, Samuel, merchant,A. A. Co., 16th July, 1718; 31st Oct., 1718:
    To son Samuel and male hrs., 600 A., ÿ2 CONT To grandson Samuel and hrs. (son of son John), testator's share in ÿ2 CONC ÿ2 CONC l lying at or near Herring Bay.
    To son Nathaniel, 318 A., lately bou. of Jas. Heath, being pt. of 3 tracts, ÿ2 CONC ge Blossomÿ2 CONC l Rigbye, adj. above lands, and where son Nathaniel now lives, also personalty and £200.
    To grandchild., viz.: Samuel, Ann, Sarah and Mary (child. of son John, dec'd), £1,200 divided equally among them or the survivors, to be pd. as follows: to Samuel at 21 yrs. and to granddaus. at 18 yrs.
    To grandchild.-in-law Cassandra and Elizabeth (daus. of Philip Coale and Cassandra, his wife), £100, equally divided.
    To cousin Benjamin (son of Wm. Chew), personalty.
    To friends on the Western Shore, £20.
    Son Samuel ex. and residuary legatee.

    He married twice..14 April 1682 to Anne ??, who died 8 Apr 1702 and had issue and 2nd on 29 June 1704 to Elizabeth ?? Coale, widow of William Coale. She
    died 27 Feb 1709/1710, sine prole.
    
    4. Samuel Chew II <http://users.erols.com/ulrich/sc1458.html>, born at Herring Bay in 1660, was a Quaker and the grantor of the land on which Herring Creek Meeting House was built. He also started construction on the house known as "Maidstone <http://www.prairieghosts.com/maidstone.html>" which was later completed in 1778. Legend has it that the ghost of his wife, Anne Ayres Chew dressed in gray with a long scarf blowing behind her, still walks in the garden in the evening.
