William CARR

William was born in 1704 in Virginia (New Kent Co). William's father was William CARR and his mother is Catherine WINSTON. His paternal grandfather was Thomas CARR and his paternal grandmother is Lucy and or Mary GARLAND. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Unknown, Gideon, Mary and Unknown. He died about 1736.

  We are forced to speculate on this family. The Augustan Society article
  lists 11 children to William Carr Jr by Mary and Susannah Brooks. This
  conflicts with the list of children assigned to William, son of Thomas
  and Mary Dabney -- a cousin of this William, in Joseph Kimmel's records.
  I suspect that the two families got mixed together because of the
  duplicate first names, and the two Williams are first cousins. Joseph
  Kimmel also lists a daughter, Susanna Brooks Carr, who, I believe, would
  more likely be the daughter of a BROOKS mother (Mary or Susanna BROOKS).
  The Augustan Society article lists all 11 children to William Carr and
  MAry and Susanna Brooks. Question: Were these wives sisters? Cousins?
  I wish we could find the answer somewhere. Has anyone else an idea of
  some thoughts on this problem? (DWC)
