George CARR

George was born in 1599 in near London, England. George's father was William CARR and his mother is Mary Ann CLIFFORD. His paternal grandfather is Thomas KERR and his paternal grandmother was Janet KIRKCALDY. He had four brothers named Benjamin, William, James and Richard. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 83 on April 4th, 1682 in Carr's Island, Salisbury, MA.

General Notes
- George was the third of four sons of Sir William Carr and Mary Ann
  Clifford of Northumberland County, England. He and his first wife,
  Lucinda Devenport, came to New England aboard the Mayflower with the
  Pilgrims in November 1620. He was a ship's carpenter and may have been
  the person who placed the screw jack from the printing press under the
  cracked beam in the Mayflower during the crossing.
