Rebecca's father was John Burt and her mother was Sarah Marshall. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Burt and Elizabeth Walton; her maternal grandparents were John Marshall and Elizabeth Branch. She had a brother and a sister, named William Jefferson and Mary Polly. She was the oldest of the three children. She died on June 7th, 1812 in Putnam GA.
