Hudson was born on May 25th, 1750 in Burlington Co., New Jersey.  Hudson's father is John Burr and his mother was Keziah Wright.  His paternal grandfather was Henry immigrant Burr and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Thredder Hudson; his maternal grandparents are Job Wright and Rachel Wright. He had a brother named Joseph.  He is the younger of the two children.
