John Jan Blaw

John Jan was born about 1677. John Jan's father is Jan Frederickse Blauw (Blau) and his mother is Aeltje Janss. His paternal grandparents are Frederick Janss and Grieten; his maternal grandparents are Jan Janss de Jonge and Catherina De Brul. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Abraham, Hendrick, Dinah and Elsje. He was the oldest of the five children. He died in 1757 in Somerset Co., New Jersey.

  The earliest records of John BLAW are found at the 1st Dutch Reformed Church at Jamaica, Queens Co. NY on Long Island, where the baptisms of his last three children are recorded. These and other records indicate that he was a farmer in New York prior to moving to Somerset Co., NJ. where he died in 1757. John married Marytje, surname unknown, and they had eight children:
