Etienne was born on December 30th, 1822 in Saint-Coulomb, Bretagne, France.  Etienne's father was François Joseph CROSLARD and his mother was Laurence Julienne, Gilette VIOT.  His paternal grandparents were Jean CROSLARD and Anne ROUAULT; his maternal grandparents were Thomas VIOT and Julienne CHEVALIER. He had a sister named Françoise.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 46 on January 1st, 1869 in Saint-Coulomb, Bretagne, France.
