Robert was born on December 6th, 1922.  Robert's father was Julius E. Allen and his mother was Dora Agnes Conlee. He had three brothers and a sister, named James Edward, John Arthur, Everett Conlee and Mary Elizabeth.  He is the third oldest of the five children.

‌Robert and Shirley were married in a religious ceremony on September 6th, 1942.  They have six sons and a daughter, named Robert Bradford, Edward Evans, Stephen Everett, Ralph Wesley, Chester Conlee, Timothy J and Cindy Ann.
