Alan was born in 1057 in Penthièvre, Morbihan, Bretagne, France. Alan's father was Eudes Penthievre DeBrittany and his mother was Agnes Canhiart. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey Berengar and Hawise DeNormandy; his maternal grandparents were ALAIN CAGNIART COMTE DE CORNOUAILLES and JUDITH COUNTESS OF NANTES. He had ten brothers and a sister, named Robert Seigneur, Alan, Bardolf, RIBALD Lord, Stephen, Geoffrey I, Stephen, Geoffroy I, Tihern Ier, Steven I and Matilda. He had three half-brothers named Robert Seigneur, RIBALD Lord and Etienne. He died at the age of 32 on August 4th, 1089.-
