Thomas' father is WILLIAM Gilbert Jr. and his mother was ELIZABETH Musson.  His paternal grandparents are WILLIAM Gilbert Sr. and MARIE Rowny. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, ELIZABETH and Sarah.
