James R was born in 1848 in Warren, Tennessee, United States.1 James R's father was Josiah Cooksey and his mother was Elanor Wagoner. His paternal grandparents were DANIEL Cooksey and SARAH Murphy Cooksey; his maternal grandparents were JACOB Wagoner and MARY A Barringer. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John, Terell A, Daniel M, Sarah II, Nancy E and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 62 in 1910.-
