Benjamin was born about 1730 in Hanover Co, Va. Benjamin's father was David Rice Sr. and his mother was Susannah Searcy. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Rice II and Marcey Anne Hewes; his maternal grandparents were Robert Searcy and Sarah........ He had two brothers and two sisters, named David, William H., Mary Helen and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children. He died in Bedford Co, Va.
