Count Philipp of Virneburg II

Philipp was born in 1278 in Virneburg, Rheinland, Prussia.¹ Philipp's father was Count Heinrich of Virneburg I and his mother was Ponzette von Oberstein. His paternal grandparents were Count Hermann of Virneburg III/V and Countess Luitgardis of Nassau; his maternal grandparents were Eberhard von Oberstein III and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named Ruprecht, Friedrich, Eberhard, Heinrich, Werner, Mathilde, Aleidis, Margarethe, Imagine, Lise, Ponzette, Jutte and Elisabeth.
