Countess Margarethe of the Mark 
Margarethe was born in 1278 in Katzenelnbogen, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.1 Margarethe's father was Count Eberhard of the Mark I and her mother was Countess Irmgard of Berg. Her paternal grandparents were Count Engelbert of the Mark I and Kunigunde von Bliescastel. She had a brother and a sister, named Engelbert and Kunigunde. She was the oldest of the three children.
