Thane Aethelwerd (The Historian) of Surrey I 
Aethelwerd, known as The Historian, was born in 0965.1 The Historian's father was Eadric Streona and his mother was Aethelgifu of Wessex. His paternal grandparents were Morcar of Northumbria and Ealdgyth of Mercia. He was an only child. He died at the age of 33 in 0998.1 General Notes
