Aethelric was born in 0559.1   Aethelric's father was King Aedh of Northumbria and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were King Isa of Northumbria and Bearnoch of Northumbria. He had a brother named Hussa.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 34 in 0593.1
