Philip was born in 1293 in France.1 Philip's father was Count of Valois, Anjou & Maine Charles of Valois III and his mother was Margaret of Naples. His paternal grandparents were King Phillip (The Bold) Capet of France III and Isabelle of Aragon; his maternal grandparents were King Charles (The Lame) of Naples II and Marie of Arpad Hungary. He had a brother and a sister, named Charles and Joan. He died at the age of 57 on August 22nd, 1350 in Nogent le Rotrou, France. He was buried in St. Denis, France.1 1 -
