Countess Sofie of Dassel 
Sofie was born in 1162 in Dassel, Hannover, Prussia.1 Sofie's father was Count Ludolf of Dassel and her mother was Countess. Her paternal grandparents were Count Reinald of Dassel and Countess Mathilde of Schauenburg. She had two brothers and a sister, named Ludolf, Adolf and Countess of Dassel. She was the youngest of the four children.
