Allan was born in 0997 in Brittany, France.1 Allan's father was Duke of Brittany Geoffrey of Anjou and his mother was Havlive Rouen. His paternal grandparents were Duke Conan (The Crooked, Le Tort) of Brittany I and Ermengard of Anjou; his maternal grandparents were Duke of Normandy Richard (San Peur, The Fearless) Normandy I and Gonnor de Crepon. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Eudes, Geoffrey, Robert, William, Adela and Hawise. He was the oldest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richard, Robert and Herleva. He died at the age of 43 on October 10th, 1040.1 -
