MARRIAGE: Washington County Marriages Minister Returns 1792-1826, film AK2Wa274, Mesa Family History Library (old microfilm number). Marriage Bondsman: Michael Houk. Witness: Pleasant Harper and Michael Houk. Marriage Book 1, page 56. RESIDENCE: According to the Houk Family Dictionary, George lived in Washington County 1803-1817, Hart County 1819, and Green County until his death. DEATH: Green Co. Kentucky Will Book 2 (1816-1893) page 176. The will was dated 15 Oct 1829, marked with an 'x' by the name of George Houk, signifying his mark. The will was produced in the Green County courthouse in Greensburg on 21 Dec 1829. Therefore, George died between 15 Oct 1829 and 21 Dec 1829. Witnesses were Mansfield Houck and John Houck. The will reads in part: " In the name of God, Amen, I george Houck, being in perfect mind....It is my will and desire that my loving wife Susannah should keep and enjoy all my personal and real estate during her natural life after paying my debts and giving my sons John and Miles Houck one horse saddle and bridle to each of them...and to (unreadable) their horses when they become of age. It is my will and desire that at her death that all the balance of my estate be equally divided amongst my children all."

Davis' district,which means they all lived or owned land in the area. The next thing about Burke County- I say he moved to Burke Co. In 1778, Michael signed a petition for part of Rown Co. to become Burke Co. Nicholas' land could have been part of what later became Burke Co. By 1779, it appears that Nicholas moved to Burke Co. In a compilation of Burke Co. records, which includes court dockets, we find four entries: 1. Nicholas Hook, 150 acreas on Clarks Creek including North Camps branch and his own improvements, down both sides of Creek. Entered Jan 11, 1779, transferred to Francis King. 2. Warrent ordered "1785 Nicholas Houk vs. Joanna Clark, March 7 and her sons Samuel, Johnand a negro harry belonging to Thomas Whitson. 31787- Jacob Bauldwin vs. Nicholas Hock. 4. July 21, 1788-names of those convicted for profain Swearing,1 drunk, Nicholas Hook 10 oaths and drunk...{Ron Carter}: On Aug 8, 1778 Nicholas is listed as a "nonjuror" in reference to the "Register of persons who refused or neglected to appear before the justice of their respective districts and take the oath of Affirmation of Alligience to the state". Anna Maria was born abt. 1740, location unknown. They were the parents of 8 known children. Berks County Administration Book 2:Peter Hauck of Greenwich Township, yeoman; Letters of Administration granted31, Jan 1761 to Ana Maria Hauch, widow and relict. Peter Hauck's will (Estate sale) indicates that Anna Maria Scwedener had married Thomas Winkler by 1763. Anna Maria Hauck, dtr of Peter married Frderick Mouser on Dec 25, 1763 inreading, PA. Philadelphia Wills: Peter Hauch with Nicholas Kemmer witnessed the will of William Mumbaur in 1750 Frederick Twp. Maria Barbara Hauch, wife of Jacon Hauch d. 02-5-1772, age 86. Buried in Zieber-Schwenk burial ground. (Eighteenth Century German Emmigrants). The book also references Johann Nicholas Schiel whose mother was Elizabeth Elizabetha Houch, July 1689) daughter of Mattheis Houch of Lagenbach. Johan Nicholas came to America on the Royal Judith in 1739 and would have been Johan Peter's first cousin and Jacob's nephew and they were manumitted together. (per Grady Loy-Japan).
