Nigel was born in 1168 in Plumpton, Spofforth, Yorkshire, England.1   Nigel's father was Peter de Plumpton and his mother was Helena.  His paternal grandparents were Eldredus de Plumpton and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 37 in 1205 in Plumpton, Spofforth, Yorkshire, England.1
