Nigel de Mowbray 
Nigel was born in 1146 in Axholme, Lincolnshire, England.1 Nigel's father was Roger de Mowbray and his mother was Alice de Gaunt. His paternal grandparents were Sir Nigel d'Aubigny and Gundred de Gournay; his maternal grandparents were Lord of Folkingham Walter de Gaunt and Matilda of Brittany. He was an only child. He died at the age of 44 in 1190 in Axholme, Lincolnshire, England.1 General Notes
Nigel de Mowbray, 2nd Baron by tenure, like his father, was a Crusader and died on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1192-3. He married Mand or Mabel, daughter of Roger de Clare. (Kin of Mellcene Thurman Smith, page 374)
