Maud de Montgomery (Mathilde) 
Maud was born in 1042 in St. Germain, Montgomery, Normandy, France.1 Maud's father was 1st Earl of Shrewsbury Roger De Montgomery II and her mother was Mabel de Balleme Talvas. Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Montgomerie and Josceline de Ponteaudemer; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume de Alencon Talvas III and Hildeburge de Beaumont. She had five brothers and a sister, named Robert, Hugues, Robert, Le Poitevin, Arnulph and Sybil. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 65 in 1107. She was buried in Grestain Abbey.2 General Notes

He [Robert, Count of Mortain] m. 1stly, before 1066, Maud, daughter of Robert de Montgomery, Earl of Shrewsbury, by his 1st wife, Mabel, daughter and heir of William Talvas (5th son of William de Belleme, Seigneur of Alencon and Belleme).
