Richard FitzSimon de Montfort 
Richard was born in 1247 in Leicester Castle, Leicestershire, England.1 Richard's father was Earl of Leicester Simon de Montfort V and his mother was Princess of England Eleanor Plantagenet. His paternal grandparents were Earl of Leicester Simon de Montfort (L'Amaury) IV and Alice de Montmorency; his maternal grandparents were King of England John (Lackland) Plantagenet of England and Isabella De Taillefer of Angouleme. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Henry, Simon, Guy, Amaury, Joanna, Eleanor and Isabel. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 23 in 1270 in Lontargis, France.2 -
