Galfrid was born in 1090 in Pirton, Hertfordshire, England.1   Galfrid's father was Alan Limesi and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Ralph de Limesi and Hawise. He had a brother and a sister, named Triannus and Celestra.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 95 in 1185.2
