Ralph was born in 1218 in Horbury, Wakefield, Yorkshire, England.1   Ralph's father was Ralph de Horbury and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas de Horbury and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 41 in 1259.2
