Matthew was born in 1245 in Haydock Manor, Lancashire, England.1 Matthew's father was Gilbert de Haydock and his mother was Alicia de Bold. His paternal grandparents were Hugh (Haidoc) de Haydock and Cecelia de Lauton; his maternal grandparents were Matthew de Bold and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Gilbert. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 77 in 1322.1 -
