Matilda was born in 1118 in Donjon, Allier, France.1   Matilda's father was Lord Corbeil Frederic de Donjon and her mother was Hedwige.  Her paternal grandparents were Everard de Donjon and <Unknown>. She had a brother and a sister, named Guy and Hawise.  She was the youngest of the three children.
