Walter was born in 1076 in Shelford, Nottinghamshire, England.1   Walter's father was Robert de Caus and his mother was Gasilea de Normanville.  His paternal grandparents were Walter de Caus and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 54 in 1130.1
