Ermezinda was born in 0842.1   Ermezinda's father was Gaton Ramirez de Leon and her mother was Egilona.  Her paternal grandparents were King of Asturias Ramiro Bermudez de Leon I and Urraca of Castile.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 34 in 0876.1
