Walter was born in 1174 in Eresby, Lincolnshire, England.1 Walter's father was Lord of Eresby Walter de Bec and his mother was Agnes Pincerna. His paternal grandparents were Geoffroi de Bec and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were 4th Baron of Warrington Richard Pincerna and Beatrix de Villiers. He had four brothers named Henry, Hugh, John and Nicholas. He was the third oldest of the five children.-
