Waltheof was born in 0965 in Northumbria, England.1   Waltheof's father was High Reeve de Bamburgh Osulf and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were High Reeve de Bamburgh Ealdred and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 41 in 1006.2
