Micajah was born in 1859 in Van Buren Co, TN. Micajah's father was Walker and his mother was Mamie Elizabeth Simmons. His maternal grandparents were Joseph N. Simmons and Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' Lewis. He had three brothers and a sister, named Joseph H., George A. J., William Ashford and Sarah Elizabeth. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Banjamin Levi, John K., Stacey C. and Sarah E..General Notes
