Russell Boone's father was Alfred Thomas Underwood and his mother was Gertrude Bloyd. His maternal grandparents were Luther Franklin Bloyd and Emma Susan Warren. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Johnny Everett, Robert Bloyd, Grant Hardin, Verna Esther, Estelle, Gladys, Mauda, Mattie Candance and Aileen.-
