Joseph Ray Underwood, 49, 315 North Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1988, at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington after a short illness. He was the son of Elsie Underwood, who survives, and the late Bennie Underwood. He was an employee of the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home and was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father in 1984 and a brother, Jack Underwood, in 1971. He is survived by one son and one daughter, Scotty Underwood, Campbellsville, and Carla Jo Morgan, Lebanon; two brothers and four sisters, Garland Underwood, Elizabethtown, Mona Brewer and Lovie Brewer, both of Campbellsville, and Franklin Hiestand Underwood, Essie Vance, and Connie Caulk, all of Buffalo; several other relatives and friends.
