James Strangeways of Harsley Castle (Speaker of the House of Commons 
James was born in 1397 in Horsley, Yorkshire, England.1 James' father was James Strangeways and his mother was Joan Orrell. His paternal grandparents were Henry Strangeways and Alice; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Orrell and <Unknown>. He was an only child. He died at the age of 83 on August 20th, 1480.1 General Notes
