William A. was born in 1865 in Taylor Co., KY. William A.'s father was James W. Sprowls and his mother was Celia Underwood. His maternal grandparents were William C. Underwood and Mariah J. Druin. He had three brothers and two sisters, named George A., Jesse F., Henry S., Gracey O. and Bettie. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 75 in 1940 in Taylor Co., KY. He was buried in 1940 in Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery, Taylor Co., KY.-
