William was born on June 13th, 1679 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1   William's father was John Sprague and his mother was Elizabeth Holbrook.  His maternal grandparents were William Holbrook and Elizabeth Pitts. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, William, John, Ebenezer, Elizabeth and Persis.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 73 on August 18th, 1752 in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts.  He was buried in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts.1 1
