George Washington Skaggs

George Washington was born on March 5th, 1859 in Madison Co., Missouri.¹ George Washington's father was Stephen Skaggs and his mother was Nancy Cobb. His paternal grandparents were James Skaggs and Hannah Holbrook. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Henry, Melton Louis, Stephen,Jr., Joseph, Nancy E., Louisa and Mary C.. He was the second youngest of the nine children.
