Ward LeClaire was born on July 13th, 1902 in Chester, Crawford County, Arkansas, USA.1 Ward LeClaire's father was William Lester Shipley and his mother was Juda Ellen Reed. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Pascal SHIPLEY and Elizabeth Mildred LESTER. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Wilson, Howard Graham, William Garvin, Benjamin Harrison, Johnnie, Paul Jefferson, Beulah Mae, Ethel Grey and Flossie Belle. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 76 on June 6th, 1979 in , Solano County, California, USA. He was buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas, USA.2 3 -
