Annabel was born about 1372 in Dudhope Castle, Dundee, Argyllshire, Scotland.1   Annabel's father was Sir Alexander Scrimgeour and her mother was Agness Glassary. She had two brothers named Alexander and James.  She was the oldest of the three children.
