Drury Thomas SKAGGS 
Drury Thomas was born in 1804. Drury Thomas' father was James Skaggs and his mother was Mary Anna MCCOLGAN. His paternal grandparents were Henry (The Long Hunter) Skaggs and Mary Thompson. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Thompson, Joel, William, Samuel, Martha, Griselda Jane and Lucy. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died about 1881 in Madison Co. MO.General Notes
Drury's name appears in a couple of Madison Co. MO CourtRecords. Thefirst is dated 3 Jan 1840 and reads as follows:"Drewry Skaggs vs. JohnJohnson. Appeal from the Ins. Peace.The defendant appears and uponhis motion and affidavit filed.It is ordered that a mule be directedto the justices who triesthis cause, tocertify to this court, on orbefore the firstdayof the next term, on what day said appeal was payedfor andallowed and this cause is continued until the next term".Casewas dismissed May 1840. The second case was dated 6 Oct 1841andreads as follows: "Richard Compton vs. DrewrySkaggs, theplaintiff andgarnishes came, and it appearing from the answerfiled of the saidDrewry Skaggs taht he is indebted to the saidWilliam Gibson twodollars and seventy five cents. It istherefore considered that thesaid plaintiff have and recover ofthe said Drewry Skaggs the said sumeof two dollars and seventyfive cents, in Manner and form as in hisanswer admitted."
