Asa P. SKAGGS 
Asa P. was born about 1828 in MO. Asa P.'s father was Henry SKAGGS and his mother was Elizabeth NOBLETT. His paternal grandparents were David Skaggs and Margaret "Peggy". He had a brother and three sisters, named Hiram Harvey, Elizabeth, Sally and Charlotte. He was the youngest of the five children. He died before 1900 in Lane Prairie, Maries Co. MO. He was buried in Skaggs Chapel Cemetery, Maries Co. MO.General Notes
Asa is listed on the 1850 Osage Co. MO Census records with his parents. He married that same year and his marriage record is recorded in OsageCo. MO Marriage Book A, page 149.
He is listed with his wife and children on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Maries Co. MO Census Records, living in Jefferson Township.
According to the Osage County Missouri History Book, page 893, Asa and Adeline lived their entire married life in Maries Co.MO on a farm located on Old Springfield Road, just east of Lanes Prairie, not far from the old Noblett homeplace.
