David William's father was David William Russell and his mother was Nola Hazel Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin E. Russell and Harriet Elizabeth Howell. He had a brother and three sisters, named Elmer Glen, Nola Laverne, Nora Beth and Rita Fay.General Notes
