Laura was born in 1861 in Granville Co, NC.1 Laura's father was Jesse V. Roberts and her mother was Lascina Unknown. Her paternal grandparents were John S. Roberts and Winnifred Roberts. She had a brother and three sisters, named Graham S., Henrietta, Dena Lucy and Anna. She was the third oldest of the five children.1 General Notes
