Ira was born in 1807 in Orange Co, NC.1 Ira's father was Abner Roberts and his mother was Winnifred Bonner. His paternal grandparents were Charles Roberts and Mary Langston. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Jesse, Moses, Thomas, Abner, Sarah, Winney and Elizabeth.1 General Notes
