Comfort was born in 1770 in Orange Co, NC. Comfort's father was John Roberts and her mother was Wife Unknown. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Roberts and Elizabeth. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Simon, Vincent, Leavin, John, Phereby, Faithy, Stacy Ann, Jamima and Hannah. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.1 General Notes
