Caroline Matilda Roberts 
Caroline Matilda was born on December 24th, 1854 in Mayo Twp, Rockingham Co, NC.1 Caroline Matilda's father was James Dutch Roberts and her mother was Nancy Jane Sneed. Her paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Susannah Thomas. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Adolphus Douglas, James William, Sarah Lou, Susie, Martha S., Catherine Eliza, Mary Lee and Cornelia Sophia 'Nealy'. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Robert, James W., John Willie, Robert Monroe 'Monk', Martha, Minnie and Mattie Ivie. She died at the age of 85 on April 21st, 1940 in Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC. She was buried on April 22nd, 1940 in Roberts Family Cemetery, Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC.1 General Notes
