Bettie Elsie was born in 1902 in Alamance Co, NC and her baptism took place in Census 1910. Bettie Elsie's father was Junius James Rhew and her mother was Belle Clark. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac N. Rhew and Alcey A. Yarbrough. She had three brothers and a sister, named Edgar D., Joseph Isaac 'Ike', Atlas and Rosa R.. She was the second youngest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Pauline Helen.General Notes
